Academics at Coronado High School
CHS is an award-winning, comprehensive high school. CoSA, an arts conservatory, is on the campus of CHS in the Coronado Unified School District located in Coronado (San Diego County) California.
CHS has conservatory training in the arts and a powerful academic program.
Here qualified students with a passion for the arts can pursue both rigorous academics and conservatory-style training in music, dance, musical theatre/drama, technical theatre and visual art in an extended-day program at one of the region’s finest comprehensive public high schools.
CHS has a schedule that provides morning academics, an afternoon arts conservatory, and a small school atmosphere.
Students who are admitted to CoSA have a full morning of academics at Coronado High School before their conservatory afternoon. Students are able to take 5 or 6 periods of core academic subjects before their afternoon arts classes begin. CHS has a full array of academic and elective courses that include Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses. A small school environment, with a student body under 1200 students, is an added bonus for students at CHS.
